How to Minimise Casualties in Strife-torn Insurgent-Militant hit Areas

Let's get some basic facts correct. India is a heterogeneous nation, with over 28 main languages and over 1,500 dialects. It is multi-ethnic, it is multi-religious and to top it all it is caste-ridden, not to mention the growing number of OBCs, STs and SCs. Such a diverse country can only be kept united by respecting the sentiment of each sect or group while at the same time amalgamating them in the mainstream. The language issue comes forefront to mind. If Hindi has to be optionally taught in non-Hindi speaking states with English continuing to be the lingua franca, then non-Hindi languages should also be taught in predominantly Hindi-speaking states.

Second, men and women of mettle must be chosen for the IAS, political establishment and the defence forces. Men who can follow ‘orders in the national interest’ and resist subversive or compulsive orders which are clouded and shrouded in personal interest. Just as a Muslim Caliphate is unacceptable in Kashmir at gun point and at the blade of the sword, the idea of a Hindu Rashtra for India is equally dangerous and could in the long run be self defeating and suicidal. India must resist with all its might the Islamisation and Caliphateisation of Kashmir and must bring its full force to quell this ideology just as it must nip in the bud the idea of a Hindu Rashtra.

The BJP is a national party of impeccable track record in governance and its leaders believe in creating a strong, dynamic and enterprising Hindu society but not by suppressing other religions or ethnic groups. The BJP as a party believes in giving fair opportunity to members of other religious groups as well. This realisation by the current leadership of the BJP will hold it in good stead and could well propel it to a second term in 2019 elections. But administrative problems in India’s far east, mid-eastern region and the northern tip are spinning out of control and this must be addressed with urgency.

Here are some ways to minimise casualties.

Infantry Combat Vehicles: Apart from bullet-proof vests, helmets and limb guards, all front line soldiers in strife torn areas must confront the enemy from inside all-terrain infantry combat vehicles.

Disinformation campaign: India should use this tactic against the enemy suspects and through propaganda and disinformation campaign should create confusion, paralysis and demoralisation.

Psychological warfare: More than a battle of guns it's a battle of nerves. Moles and front agents must infiltrate enemy ranks and spread and create fear and panic by engaging THEM psychologically.

UAVs and Warrior robots: For any frontal assault, first UAVs and warrior robots must be sent to assess the situation and engage the enemy with firepower.

Depriving Militants of local Public Support: This can be done by cutting off access to essential services like water, electricity and rations for the general public in strife-torn areas. They will then blame the militants for their suffering.

Sending Advance Parties: In any area of conflict, seasoned and hardened advance engagement security parties must be sent to gather intelligence and assess the situation.

Commit in Abundance: If the enemy commits 25,000 militants we must commit 250,000 fighters and soldiers. Our resolve to fight to win must not be shaky but it must be firm and resolute.
