Modi was originally conceptualised as BJP’s leading campaign
manager for 2014 elections and the RSS/BJP cadres were sent supporting him in
totality so that BJP could project a powerful unified force in the 2014
elections and give the Congress rest for 5-10 years because they, the Congress,
had started harassing and torturing the common man. A 3-5 month prime
ministerial probation period for Modi is sufficient for spearheading the 2014
elections and Modi must now get into action mode if he has to quickly make a mark.
Modi has demonstrated many leadership skills
that will strengthen democracy or empower the common man. As a mark of respect, he has shown reverence to Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and has upgraded Amit Shah as the BJP President. This is fine but he must also rever stalwarts and leaders from other states of India.
Modi does not want to centralise power in his own hands is
exemplified by the fact that he is planning to revive the GOM/EGOM which were created
by the earlier government to keep a check on individual ministerial whims and
fancies. Modi is grateful and thankful to and has not forgotten the key
influencers who have helped him become the Prime Minister in the first place.
Such a trait is extremely good in a man who heads the government. He has not sidelined LK Advani who helped build the BJP for 50 years and has extended due respect to him.
The RSS/BJP are great organisations with excellent leaders.
They must now step in to provide ground cover to the initiatives of Modi/Shah. Besides the
duo of Modi/Shah are implementing many great ideas to make India a world class
power. They are not indulging in radicalisation, communalisation and mindless
bigotry to turn this great country into a medieval kingdom which some leaders have done in the past. In all great democracies the
world over, a prime minister has experience of at least 20-25 years or 4-5 terms in the parliament.
